Cost of Living Support

The rise in the cost of living means that we're all having to dig a little deeper to pay for household essentials such as food and energy. Many people in Devon are being forced to make difficult decisions, especially those on the lowest incomes.

Support available is summarised below:

Citizens Advice – Fuel Vouchers: If you have a prepay meter and are struggling to afford to top it up, Citizens Advice can help. The scheme provides vouchers to add credit to your meter and is being managed by Citizens Advice Devon. Contact any local office for this support. Follow the link to contact Citizens Advice:

South Hams District Council – Household Support Fund:  The new fund will run from April 2023 to March 2024 and is aimed at supporting households in the most need with food, energy, water, other household bills and wider essentials.  Follow the link to apply:

Devon County Council – Free School Meals: If you’re struggling to pay food bills, DCC encourage you to check your eligibility and apply for free school meals for your child. You will also get food vouchers during school holidays if you are eligible for free school meals.

Devon County Council – Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme: Children aged five to 16-years-old who are eligible for benefits-related free school meals are invited to take up an action-packed school holidays. For more information visit:
