Government confirms four unitary model for local government reorganisation in Devon

The option selected, proposed by Plymouth and Exeter City councils, will create four new unitary councils for Devon.

• Devon Coast and Countryside: The rest of Devon
• Exeter: Exeter plus 15 parishes from within Teignbridge District Council, 28 parishes from within East Devon District Council and 6 parishes from within Mid-Devon District Council. (Ashcombe, Aylesbeare, Bicton, Brampford Speke, Broadclyst, Budleigh Salterton, Cheriton Bishop, Chudleigh, Clyst Honiton, Clyst Hydon, Clyst St. Lawrence, Clyst St George, Clyst St Mary, Colaton Raleigh, Colebrooke, Cranbrook, Crediton, Crediton Hamlets, Dawlish, Dunchideock, East Budleigh, Exminster, Exmouth, Farringdon, Hittisleigh, Holcombe Burnell, Huxham, Ide, Kenn, Kenton, Lympstone, Mamhead, Netherexe, Newton St Cyres, Otterton, Poltimore, Powderham, Rewe, Rockbeare, Shillingford St George, Sowton, Starcross, Stoke Canon, Tedburn St Mary, Upton Pyne, West Hill, Whimple, Whitestone and Woodbury)
• Plymouth: Plymouth plus 13 parishes from South Hams (Bickleigh, Shaugh Prior, Cornwood, Sparkwell, Harford, Ugborough, Ivybridge, Ermington, Brixton, Yealmpton, Wembury, Newton and Noss and Holberton)
• Torbay: Torbay plus 22 parishes from within Teignbridge District Council and South Hams District Council. (Abbotskerswell, Berry Pomeroy, Bishopsteignton, Broadhempston, Coffinswell, Denbury and Torbryan, Haccombe with Combe, Ideford, Ipplepen, Kingskerswell, Kingsteignton, Kingswear, Littlehempston, Marldon, Newton Abbot, Ogwell, Shaldon, Stoke Gabriel, Stokeinteignhead, Teigngrace and Teignmouth.)
