The PC are aware of the persistent flooding on Sands Road and have reported the matter to DCC Highways to see if the drain can be cleared as an emergency case given the road is now fully covered and close to the footpath surface and further rain is forecast.
The Parish Road Warden will also inspect the ditch at the back of the hedge to see if digging this out will help release some of the water. The drain pipe is scheduled to be professionally power-flushed on January 17th so the flood waters will be released on this date if still in situ.
The PC apologise for any inconvenience caused to residents, businesses and visitors and urge drivers and pedestrians to take care when passing the flooded area.
