Cllr Jane Abbey (Chair)

I moved to Slapton three years ago, with my husband Richard, after deciding to adopt a slower pace of life. Born and bred in Birmingham, I worked for Lloyds Bank PLC for 25 years, whilst bringing up my three children, and then decided to have a complete career change, qualifying as a British Sign Language Interpreter in 2005. Working in Worcestershire, Herefordshire and Oxfordshire with deaf clients, I have a raft of experience interpreting and advocating in all community domains and no regrets leaving the big city for a village life, but I do enjoy returning to Birmingham regularly to catch up with my family and friends.
