Councillor
Cllr Giles Sutton
Myself and my wife Pennie moved into the lovely hamlet of Hansel at the beginning of 2016, having come from Chipping Sodbury.
We love our life in Devon and in many ways still feel as though we are on holiday. Pennie’s family are dairy farmers in mid Devon, which probably qualifies her as a ‘semi’ local.
After leaving school, I served in the Royal Engineers, which took me to many places around the world. Following this, I spent 20 years policing in Bristol. I then became a mature student at a missionary bible college, which led to spending time teaching in Kathmandu Nepal.
I am now retired and since living here have been actively involved in the Family Church in Kingsbridge.
I feel that now is the right time to participate more locally.
As a Cllr, I’m looking forward to meeting new people and new challenges. And welcome the opportunity to join the Parish Council.
