Safeguarding Policy

Slapton Parish Council takes the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults seriously and understands that everyone has a duty to ensure their welfare and safety. All Councillors and the Clerk have completed Level 2 Safeguarding training.

Safeguarding

Slapton Parish Council will notify and work with relevant agencies if it is concerned by any action or inaction, which could cause physical or emotional harm to a child, young person or vulnerable adult.

All Councillors and the Clerk are aware that it is also their duty to raise any safeguarding concerns about Councillors, Committee Members or the Clerk and that these should be directed to Devon County Council’s Local Authority Designated Officer, who handles such allegations.
