Local Elections 4th May 2023 – Photo ID Required

SHDC Update: On Thursday 4th May 2023, local elections are taking place across the South Hams.  At these elections, you will need to bring photo ID to be able to vote at a polling station.

Acceptable forms of photo ID include:

Passport , Driving Licence, Blue Badge, Older Persons Bus Pass, Defence Identity Card, Biometric immigration Document, PASS Card (Identity card bearing the Proof of Age Standards Scheme hologram). A full list can be seen at: www.electoralcommission.org.uk

You can still use your photo ID if it’s out of date, as long as it looks like you.

If you don’t have an accepted form of photo ID, you can apply for a free voter ID document known as a Voter Authority Certificate. This can be applied for online at: http://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-idvoter-authority…

Please note you do not require Voter ID if you vote by post.
