Slapton Community Cinema
Published: 6 October 2023
Slapton Parish Council’s Community Support Group launched Slapton Community Cinema on Saturday 9th December at Slapton Village Hall. The event was well attended by nearly 50 parishioners, who all had a wonderful time. Drinks, popcorn and ice creams were all available on the night and the film Miracle on 34th Street made everyone feel very Christmassy. Since then, Slapton Community Cinema has shown films on a bi-monthly basis. Jack Carter (a self-confessed movie buff) is at the helm of this initiative and has the support of Jane and Chris Hunt, who run the bar, as well as a hand full of other wonderful volunteers.
From the 1st November 2024, the Community Support Group will come to a close. However, Slapton Community Cinema will continue as its own entity and will run independently of the Parish Council. Please do continue to support the cinema by coming along to enjoy the bi-monthly films, chat with friends and enjoy some drinks and ice cream.
